Another impromptu subway Christmas band I came across this weekend.
The sun came out briefly this morning. Luckily, it was while I was walking to work from the train, so I made sure to get as much skin exposure as possible in the 5 minutes I was outside (read: hands and face).
Everyone seems to be in the Christmas spirit–at least there was some homemade marzipan stöllen in the kitchen at work today and some plätzchen in the R&D building. I figured by the end of the week, I’ll just be going from building to building sampling the goodies.
And the end of the year rush is on. It’s always the same. Everyone hurries up to check things off their list so they can take a 3 week vacation. And then we all come back in January right where we left off. Or better yet, forgetting where we left off.
I’ve put up some decorations, baked some gluten-free, sugar-free cookies (do those even count?), hung some lights, wrapped some presents, and most importantly, downloaded a bunch of funky Christmas albums. One of my favorite songs came up on my playlist from last year: California Christmas.
“Cruising the coast with a tank not a coat.
Escaping the cold
I love Christmas the most.
Palm tree stockings, Christmas time is here.
Sunshine, good times.
Christmas time is here.”
This year’s playlist additions? Oh Tannenbaum and Stille Nacht from the “German Christmas” album.
