I had to do a little work in Amsterdam. I attended The Netherlands team showcasing our looks for 2015 to hairdressers from around the country. And they put on a show!
There’s something oddly freeing about being at a huge party in a foreign country, where you don’t know anyone, nor do you speak the language. It’s this feeling of anonymity that you hardly get to experience in day to day life.
I did know a few people there: stylists whose salons I had visited, sales reps, the marketing team, and the stylists who did hair on the big stage.
One of my colleagues asked: “You came to Amsterdam by yourself? No boyfriend? No girlfriends?”
I swear. The concept of doing things solo is so very foreign to so many people.
Sure, I start to annoy myself. But I also get to do whatever. I. want. (which is usually stocking up on goods to bring back to Germany by day and going to bed by 10 at night…but still).
I got back from Amsterdam this afternoon and I booked my next vacation. Solo.
Portugal, here I come!
Cannot wait to hear about Portugal! It’s top on my list of future Euro destinations.
I hope I am on your list of future Euro destinations too 🙂
Without a doubt.
