I love Valentine’s Day.
I think a day that’s all about love and flowers and chocolate is something I can get behind.
It’s a day that makes me think of all the people I love, enjoy, appreciate, admire. And I think it’s also a day to be thankful of all the love I have in my life.
Somehow, this morning turned into a spiritsaturday morning. I woke up to the bright sun shining in my windows, put on Jill Scott, brewed a cup of apple pie tea I picked up in Amsterdam, and made blueberry protein bars.
If you’re curious, I used this recipe from Elana’s Pantry, a really easy go-to base for baking. I added blueberries, protein powder, flax, spices, almond butter, applesauce…I think by the end, I was just throwing in whatever was within reach (although I held off on the bee pollen). I baked them in a baking dish instead of a muffin tin and they turned out great! I’m going to cut them into little hearts and take them to my gym friends later (if I don’t eat them all first).
I’m biking to the Saturday market shortly and I plan on spreading V-day cheer all over town.
Tonight, I’m going for burgers with my friend Chrissy. I got her a cute card and chocolate in Amsterdam. I can’t wait for our date!
And I just discovered there’s a Kiera Knightley movie called the Edge of Love that I haven’t seen. I have an odd obsession with Kiera Knightley movies. It’s totally weird, don’t judge. This one’s going to be my Amazon instant download Sunday night flick.
Most importantly, sending lots of love to all of my valentines back home. xo
Sending love back across the pond. Be sure to check your mailbox.
Oh. And plenty of adult “kids” got Valentine cards and flowers from their mothers.
