The view of Luz Beach and the Western tip of Portugal, where explorers like Vasco de Gama left for uncharted territories.
I arrived at Ponta da Piedade after about an hour of following the trail along the wildflower-dotted cliffs.
The blues from the ocean and the sky were so stunning, and the cliffs were simply magical. For the most part I was alone on my journey. There were a couple other travelers here and there, but I kept thinking how crowded it must be during the summer (and how lucky I was to get this view to myself).
There was a staircase that led down to the grotto below.
Ponta da Piedade: truly one of the most gorgeous places on earth.
