So, after I spent a relaxing, slow week in the Algarve, I headed back to Lisbon for a final afternoon and night. I visited Principe Real, and I saved this neighborhood for last because I had only read great things about it: hipster, trendy, great shops. Yes, yes, yes.
The first spot I reached, heading north from the city, was Jardim de São Pedro de Alcântara. This was yet another park in Lisbon with stunning views (notice the castle in the background).
Rua Dom Pedro V, the main street, is packed with interesting bars and shops.
I stopped in Chocolataria Equador, continuing my pattern of buying chocolate in every city I visit.
Two of the concept shopping centers worth mentioning on this street are Embaixada and Entre Tanto. Both full of inexpensive up-and-coming designer goods, with cafes and free Wifi!
The area is just full of funky shopping and little boutiques, where I picked up
a really cool Ana Calheiros bracelet and a great dress.
As I closed out my last night in Lisbon, I headed back to Cafe Tati. I hate going to the same restaurant twice, but this place was single-friendly (I could eat at the bar instead of being turned away for not having a reservation), the vibe was so cool, and the food was amazing. Such a hidden gem.
I really, really enjoyed my stay in Portugal. If it’s on your list, move it up to the top. If it’s not on your list, add it! I can’t wait to go back.
Your travel blogs have made me want to rethink the types of places I visit.
