Last week, I got the chance to check out a restaurant that’s been on my list for a while: Soul Kitchen.

I grabbed a bite there with my English co-worker and a stylist who was visiting from New York. It was so great to chat and laugh with English speakers (even the Brooklyn accent made me feel at home).

While the food was just ok, I didn’t mind because the company was so great.

There was also live “soul” music, which included some Bob Marley and Alicia Keys covers…and kind of made me feel like I was at a wedding.

For a minute, I forgot I was in Germany…
