I wanted to share some more pics from my long weekend in Zürich. An and I explored most of the city by foot, including a hike up Uetliberg, affectionately known as Zürich’s mountain.
I loved the ornate touches on certain buildings around the town. This, set against the lake, river and mountain backdrop, made the town feel really rich (and the fact that everything was super expensive).
Zürich had a charm very unique to other European towns I’ve been to. The language is German, so I didn’t feel that far from home. But the combination of Italian, French and German cultures made for pretty much any food we could want (and we ate it all…including amazing Moroccan mezze dishes).
It’s the start of peony season, and the town was alive with the scents and colors of fresh flowers. We took the tram to a farmers’ market (a travel must!) in Oerlikon where the peonies were the flower of choice on display.
It was such a fun, relaxing weekend – catching up with an old friend and experiencing a new city together.
