I tried German Mexican again today.
My friends, Michael and her husband Steve, spent the first night of their honeymoon with me! So I had to take them out for a traditional German meal.
We rode bikes around the city–it was in the 80s here, and sunny, with festivals on every street corner. It’s been the perfect weekend.
We ended up on the Bergerstrasse, one of the trendy streets in the northern part of town, and we found a Mexican place that had just recently opened.
Yumas Natural Mexican restaurant: trendy-looking, outside seating, black and tan decor accented by fresh limes and avocados, and cool graphics on their menus.
Too bad the burrito was just…meh.
It wasn’t bad.
It just wasn’t great.
Sigh. Should I stop searching for good Mexican food here?
I tried a DIY Mexican night when I first moved here, but failed miserably. Now that our avocados from Peru are halfway decent, maybe I should try it again.
From the burrito I had, I’m certain Yuma’s doesn’t have access to any Mexican fixins that I don’t have access to.
