Today’s necessary coffee and cake at Sugar Mama.
No, the blog machine didn’t break.
Dad’s been in town and it feels like we’ve been train-ing/biking/hiking/walking/drinking and eating all over Germany. The weather has been sunny and warm, an unbelievable treat for this country, and we’ve been taking full advantage.
While we’ve visited some picturesque little towns around Frankfurt (spoiler alert: multiple Germany little town posts to follow), I’ve also enjoyed a bit of a staycation in Frankfurt–biking around, checking out new places and festival hopping.
The stock exchange in Frankfurt
While we visited multiple festivals this past week, one of the biggest in Frankfurt was the rose and light festival at the Palmengarten. The festival celebrates, well, roses and lights. And we went on Saturday night, where the town came out to picnic, light tea lights, listen to music, and watch the fireworks.
We also hung out at the Fressassefest and the Italian festival, and we accidentally found the Strawberry festival in Kronberg.
Festivals galore!
Germany week for dad is coming to an end…but festival season for me is just getting started.
