I’m in Oslo for a quick trip to visit salons.
I was pleasantly surprised by the city.
The view from Akker Brygge of the old fortress (I had no idea there was a fortress!)
First of all, it’s been in the 70s and sunny the whole time I’ve been here. That makes any place more pleasant.
My overused smalltalk phrase: “Let’s enjoy it while we can! Before we know it, it’ll be dark, cloudy, and depressing.”
Meanwhile, I am obsessed with the sun, asking everyone about summer, winter and everything in between. In response, I just get puzzled looks because, well, it’s normal to them.
They also don’t consider themselves truly north, as it is a pretty southern town in Norway.
Anyway, there are a lot of American stores here (7-11 and Toys R Us to name a couple), a decent amount of natural stores, a lot of active people, and a necessary amount of cake and coffee.
Being by the sea and having fish has been amazing too (seafood: one of my musts for when I travel near a coast).
I wish I could stay for the weekend. But it’s been a great, fast trip.
Back home for the weekend to clean out the spider motel that has become my apartment.
