This week started out on a great note: I got to go back to my favorite German amusement park: the Oktoberfest in Munich.
Yesterday, I hopped on the train with a handful of my co-workers, in our dirndls and liederhosen, for a “team trip” to Oktoberfest.
I was afraid I was going to be disappointed, because I had such a good time last year. And sometimes, the second time isn’t as good as the first.
Well, I had just as much fun as last year.
The weather was great, the bands pumped up the crowds of beer drinkers, and the beers went down fast.
At the end of the day, we stopped in some off at some of the bizarre rides.
The picture below was taken at this tent where everyone gets on a giant rotating floor. Take me home country road is playing (why?!), and as the floor spins, it picks up spins. People are tossed off until there is one person left. The excitement doesn’t end there, though. A large ball on a string is released and swung back and forth like a pendulum trying to hit the remaining person in the head.
Germans are cheering and laughing and I’m just standing there with a completely confused look on my face.
