I know I mentioned this last Spring.

Germans always comment when I wear shoes without socks.

Without fail.

It’s gotten to the point when I’m picking out my shoes for the day, I chuckle and wonder who’s going to be the first to comment.

it doesn’t matter. Any shoe without socks. Every time.

They can’t believe I’d expose my feet when it’s chilly out.

(I don’t hesitate to mention their weird obsession with ice cream when it’s chilly out).

The other day a new colleague commented on my moccasins (it was in the 60s that day).

She said, “My mother always told me you have to wear socks in months with R in the name.”

To which I replied, “My mother always told me you have to eat oysters in months with R in the name.”
