This evening I particpated in the Merck Darmstadt Corporate Run (Firmenlauf) with some of my new co-workers.  It was such a cute run through the very green and floral city of Darmstadt. Plus we got free Kao t-shirts.

After the run, naturally, we ended up in the beer garden, where there was a lot of prost-ing going on.

I love how sporty and social the Germans are. There seem to be a lot of events like these and I can’t wait to do more!

Everyone I meet is so outgoing and willing to suffer through my attempts at speaking basic sentences, offering help whenever I need it. I had one friend coach me through the ordering process in the beer garden, while 2 others offered me rides to and from the event.
