Spring is proving to be super busy at work – and this is both challenging and rewarding.
I guess I don’t love talking about work on this blog because…if you talk about work, does that make you a boring adult?
Since the shoot in Berlin a month ago, it’s been full speed ahead to our annual business conference last week. This is where I got to present a sneak peek of next year’s plan to all of our country leaders.
Typically, the stress in the HQ building is palpable leading up to the business conference.
This means it’s the perfect environment to putting all the work I do on the yoga mat into real life practice (I think the yogi readers will understand what I mean).
So in the aftermath, we now have follow-up meetings and follow-up meetings to those follow-up meetings (makes sense, right? right?).
Things I learned last week:
- -I genuinely enjoy presenting. I do it a lot, but this is the one of the biggest stages. I love making really reduced slides and adding in funny and emotional anecdotes (something I’ve found not a lot of people do). And I get a lot of compliments (although I’m not convinced it’s not just because I’m a native speaker).
- -Setting small physical goals on work trips can make a difference. I knew I wouldn’t make it to the gym, but I told myself I would stretch 10 min in the morning and walk the stairs. Every little bit helps.
- -Not eating meat made me feel a lot better.
I made the choice not to eat the awful corporate conference-style meat and stuck to veggies and bread. And I actually felt so much better.
So my newest project is going without meat this week as well, to see if I continue to feel strong and alert.
I never thought I’d be saying this, but here I am. Everyone needs a project, right? And I love experimenting!
