It’s day 2 and I still cannot get over the views from our little house on the hill. I don’t want to sleep because I don’t want to miss a minute of this. And just like in Rome, I’m taking it all in.
Some of the highlights have been the food – and the waiters’ comments.
“Why are you so excited? It’s just food.” -in response to our gleeful giggles when we received our tzaziki, Greek salad and meatballs.
“I’m proud of you girls.” -in response to our cleaned plate of chicken pavloki.
I’m getting a lot of great ideas for meals when I go home.
The Greek salads are made up of tomatoes, cucumbers, capers, bell peppers, red onions and olives.
The tzaziki is some of the most flavorful I’ve ever had.
And I’m loving Greek coffee, especially Freddo espresso, which is espresso that’s been foamed and poured over ice.
Breakfast at “Little Venice” on the seaside, featuring the most delicious Greek yogurt and honey.
And the weather has been nothing but perfect. Warm and sunny during the day and cool at night.
Since it’s October, the crowds are at a minimum (although 3 cruise ships did come through today).
We hung out at Paradise Beach yesterday. Notorious for its crazy parties in the summer, the crowd was small and the vibe was low key–just what we were looking for in the afternoon.
And, of course, the cats are giving us a warm welcome.
Our pets – Zeus, Athena and Hercules
As soon as we opened the salami for our evening apertivo, we had 5 cats at our window and then in our house.
simply beautiful. keep us posted.
