I figured I’d get a post in while I have wifi in the hotel (or as the Dutch pronounce it, wee fee).

I spent yesterday on the road in Holland visiting KMS salons. I was picked up in the morning by one of our business development managers. After a bit of chatting, the topic of birthdays came up (me? talk about my birthday?). He told me his grandmother had recently passed and he had just stopped by the cemetery on the way to pick me up. His grandmother and his mother share my birthday. What a way to feel instantly connected to someone.

We had such a great day meeting with hairdressers, having tea with them, talking about the brand, talking about life. Spending a day in the field really adds perspective to what I do in the office every day. It’s so special to see all the people who share a passion for the brand and work hard every day to make it successful. I always feel so blessed to have the opportunity to meet so many different talented and warm-hearted people.

After our day on the road, I took a short train to Utrecht. I spent the night wandering the streets and canals, having wine and just enjoying the relaxed culture here.

I’m listening to someone playing the accordion outside as the flower market is being set up. Time to head out for some sightseeing and shopping before heading back to Frankfurt this afternoon!
