Notting Hill & Portobello Road

Last weekend I had a quick overnight trip to London.

I decided to stay in West London this time. Usually I stay in (and love) East London, but I wanted to explore a new area of town.

Plus, one of my favorite yoga studios is on the West side, so it was super easy for me to drop in and get some major spirit time.

I stayed on the border of Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill – an area where you’ll find the famous Portobello Market and where you hope for a Hugh Grant run-in. Unfortunately, I had neither a run-in, nor an opportunity to shop at the market since I was there on a Sunday.

Seriously, how is every neighborhood in London so unique and quirky?

I ate breakfast at the cutest little cafe, Golborne Deli. It’s owned and run by Italians, and the atmosphere could not have been more perfect. It was on a street with restaurants serving Spanish tapas, Portugese, Moroccan, Nordic, Austrian – I was in a global smorgasboard of places to eat!

I picked Golborne because it was so chill. Soul music, fashion magazines on every table, and so many mouth-watering breakfast treats, it was hard to pick one.

I went with poached eggs and avo on GF toast – my favorite when I’m in London.

I stayed at the charming boutique hotel, Portobello House.

This place was full of style – with colorful patterned wallpaper and strands of lights in the restaurant. There was even a flamenco guitarist on Sunday night. I loved the location, the vibe, the bnb feel of this hotel. It was the perfect spot for afternoon tea and carrot cake.

I loved West London and look forward to going back to shop at the market and explore it even more!
