I love how the new moon has been coinciding with the beginning of every month this year.
You see, I use the beginning of the month to review the past month and plan for the next one.
I’ve also become pretty mindful of the moon cycles: I ramp up my energy with the full moon and I slow down, evaluate and set intentions around the new moon.
Now my monthly life evaluation has become so much more fun since I also have a moon focus to go with it.
Stay with me here…
It might feel a little like witchcraft, but why not? The moon is such a powerful force in the universe–I mean, it pulls the tides!
I am definitely on team moon. And the new moon was this weekend! In fact, it was considered a black moon because it was the second in the month of October.
With this black moon, setting our clocks back, entering into fall, and starting a new month, I feel like it’s the perfect time to think about change and new beginnings, and especially preparing for winter.
Oh, and on top of all that, Sunday was Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, when people in India light lights and celebrate the victory of light over darkness. How awesome is that?!
And do we even need to mention Halloween, All Saint’s Day, All Soul’s Day, and Day of the Dead?
Intention abounds.
So I’m going to use this powerful time to think about being open to new possibilities. To be conscious about what I want to let into my life, and to release things that are unnecessarily taking up space.
It’s a new month, a new moon, and a way for us to start fresh…and go into winter with a new perspective.
