London knows how to do Christmas

I just got back from 6 days in London. I had to go for another video shoot, so added some weekend days to the trip, in anticipation of all the Christmas cheer.

And London didn’t disappoint.

While the big shopping streets like Oxford street were packed and annoying, I stayed in Notting Hill again and spent most of my time peering in the windows of the huge townhomes there.

I had a great Airbnb, top floor of a townhome, with views of the lights below; I spent a lot of my time there, just pretending I lived there.

It was such a great trip.

I got my global entry card – which means I can bypass customs and border patrol when I enter the UK. This is going to be a lifesaver.

I found popcorn tea.

I visited the gingerbread village – sponsored by the London Architecture Museum, it’s where gingerbread houses designed by London architecture firms are displayed in one large village. And although I expected it to be life size, it still made my day.

I went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. A strange Christmas-themed carnival with rollercoasters, ice skating and, of course, German beer gardens.

Finally, the best part: I went as part of the application process for yoga teacher training next year. I did yoga at the amazing studio there, and I got accepted! I can’t wait to step out of my comfort zone, get challenged, and grow so much. I know it will be life-changing.

I head back to London at the end of January for another shoot and it can’t come soon enough!
