I didn’t mean for this to turn into a travel blog. But I guess when you travel most of the time, that’s what happens.
I tried to find a sense of normalcy in February. But then I realized this is my normal.
After I got back from the US, I went to Berlin, got sick, went to Strasbourg, France, then Paris, and now I’m in London for a week.
That’s over a trip a week.
This month I was either jet lagged, sleep deprived, sick, or in a “I’m eating unfamiliar foods” coma.
My house is full of rolling dustballs, and I don’t even want to see what kinds of German notices have piled up in my mailbox.
But now I’m in London. And I’m here shooting our 2018 collection. Just as the 2017 collection launches next week.
I also wanted to report on the state of things in Europe.
As I went through customs in Germany yesterday, the officer and I had a brief conversation and then he said “Germany first!” and chuckled.
Then in yoga, the teacher mentioned Trump.
The mayor of London showed The Salesman in Trafalgar Square tonight, as a statement that all ethnicities are welcome here.
It’s inescapable. In Europe, US politics are top of mind.
London is calling this week. And I’m ready to drink all the tea and take in all of the queen’s English.
