Speaking the language

I am happy to report that I made myself go to German class last night. I was headed home to pick up my books and grab a quick bite when it started raining. A cold, rainy, dark Wednesday night sounds like a couch night to me. But I thought how ironic it would be if I skipped class after I had just committed to studying more.

So I went. In the cold rain.

Side note: I am on the lookout for the sun these days. It might have gotten lost somewhere. It’s been 3 days and I haven’t seen it. I’m still trying to figure out how to stomach liver as I fear I’ll need another vitamin D source soon.

Earlier in the day, I was working at my desk. Two co-workers were having a conversation that had been going on for a while. To me, it was just background noise. After some time, I picked up my headphones and was about to tune out with some music, when I noticed a couple of others giggling and rolling their eyes. I realized the trivial back and forth was worthy of major sarcastic office ridicule. But I had no clue! As much as I hated to miss out on the fun, I’m also well aware that sometimes it’s a blessing not knowing what pointless conversations are going on around me.
