Yoga

I have sorely missed my weekly yoga class and my teacher, Kristina, in California. I always felt that both my mind and body were rejuvenated after class and I realize this is something I still need in my life.

I’ve taken a couple of classes here in German, but they’re just not the same. I go to yoga to clear my mind and relieve stress. Trying to figure out what the instructor was saying became counterproductive. I even downloaded a few videos on my iPad, which are fine when I only have a few minutes. But they’re just not the same as a class.

It’s been a challenge to find yoga classes here in English; they seem to be very limited, and are offered at times that just do not work with my schedule (why can’t they have yoga at 5 am??).

Finally, I found a studio two blocks from my house with a class in English on Thursday nights. And I went. And it was great.

I remembered why I loved yoga so much and why I absolutely need it.

Not only did I sleep well, but when I woke up, my stiff muscles felt like new. And I really think it was easier to deal with life’s little annoyances today.

I can’t wait to make this new class a regular part of my new routine in my new country.
