The Alps and rooftops of Innsbruck, Austria
I had the best intentions of posting last week while I was traveling, but I didn’t have as much free time as I thought I would. So this week will be a recap of last week’s excitement. Highlights include:
-Oktoberfest, dirndls and liederhosen
-The city of Munich
-Neuschwanstein castle
-Austria and the Alps
-A day with Herbert Fettner
It was a whirlwind of a trip, and we covered a lot of ground, but we had so. much. fun. More fun than I expected. And I saw some gorgeous places. More gorgeous than I expected. I have so many pictures, I’m not sure how I’m going to pick the best. And, as usual, pictures can’t fully capture the experiences I had.
And in the thick of it all, it became October.
September was such a busy month. But I visited so many new places with some of my best friends.
The extra pounds gained from clinking steins at Oktoberfest, or sharing tapas in Spain, or walking the streets of Paris with a baguette were totally worth it.
Sleep lost from getting up to catch early trains, and going to bed late after laughing so hard my stomach hurt–worth it.
My shrinking bank account–worth it.
October is a new month. I’ll get back to a regular schedule and back to life. The pounds will come off, my sleep will get back to normal, and I’ll save up again.
I already miss my friends.
But my heart is full.
