Here it is…the post we’ve all been waiting for. Oktoberfest. The festival of all festivals.
We had the best weather I’ve experienced since I moved here.
I went in with very low expectations. But it was on Kristen’s bucket list, so I had to indulge her request, especially since she traveled all this way.
Kristen taking time to pose for the camera while everyone else around her sings in joyous merriment.
So the verdict? I loved it.
The only way to describe it is Disneyworld, Halloween, and the most fun wedding you’ve never been to. There are rides and food. You dress up. And it’s not weird because everyone does it. You can stand on a bench and sing and dance to the live music. It pretty much describes the most magical party ever.
There aren’t many people in the world who I would let see me like this, and Kristen is one of them. After all, we’ve gotten dressed up many times for the Kentucky Derby. And we take Europe by storm whenever we’re together.
We went on a Monday, so contrary to popular knowledge, we didn’t need any passes to get into the tents. We walked into the first tent and I proclaimed, “There’s a band?!”
And the rest of the day was all uphill from there. We had our pick of tents, bands, and people to sing and dance with, all in our ridiculous costumes.
We couldn’t even hold our beers with one hand.
So, Oktoberfest. I’m already shopping for next year’s dirndl.
