Happy Halloween!
I guess.
I actually kind of forgot it was Halloween today. Germans don’t really do Halloween. The scariest thing going on at work was the lunch in the cafeteria.
I got an email from a co-worker: “Happy Halloween! Are you doing anything for Halloween? Americans are obsessed with it.” To which I thought, yes, I am obsessed with Halloween. One of my favorite things to do on Halloween is listen to the radio in my car until I hear Monster Mash and Thriller. Not this Halloween! No car and no scary tunes on the radio.
This evening, I heard kids playing in the park (kids that should have been trick or treating). I did see a couple of kids in costumes, but I have to say they were very, very weak. A few smudges of face paint and some raggedy capes. I’m very disappointed here. These German kids should be forced to wear embarrassing homemade costumes from their mom’s old clothes and getting sick off their huge stashes of candy for days to come.
I got invited to a party tonight but was told not to wear a costume. What kind of Halloween is this?
OMG! I was totally telling someone about “what i did LAST YEAR on halloween”….pretty mush summed up to this- THought we SHOULD go to a halloween party. dressed up in our sluttiest gear (well, i did lol) and about an hour an a half later ended up at SURF LIQUOR. My highlight of the night was the moment we decided to leave and go have some late night cliff bars, baking and popcorn!!! OMG MISS YOU! COME BACK! 🙂
I was thinking about last year and how it was only awesome once we got into full grandma mode! xo
